How would you change Sony's PSP Go?

-2nd analog stick
-A UMD transfer device to get the data to the ssd
- mini USB charging rather than proprietary
- regular compatibility with old PSP devices with an EXT port
- A2DP bluetooth
- touchscreen
If it had all this stuff, I'd gladly hand SONY $300 for it.
make it consumer friendly!
SDHC slot, 32gb choice, and keep UMD
I wouldn't have made it look like a cheesy Nokia phone knockoff design! The whole slide function is terrible! I wouldn't be caught dead or alive for that matter holding one of these! No second analog stick? What were they thinking? No UMD drive or backup device? Sony is trying to rip ppl off! It has less features and is more expensive than the old model, doesn't sound like a good decision to me! So in short, I would bring back UMD, add another analog stick, get rid or the slider function, WAIT a minute! I would tweak the old one a little and call it a day! Sorry Sony, but it's a bust on the new PSP-GO!
Make it an XBP (Xbox Portable), with 802.11n, web browser, duel nubs, 32gb memory, wireless hdmi (to connect to a tv), accelerometer, wireless charging, hd camera/camcorder, and optionally a touch screen (with multitouch of course). Put a sub $300 price tag on that, and I'll snag up 5 in a heartbeat.
@Mjayhunt
You're delusional.
PSPgo is awesome.. besides the price. the cool design and portability of the system make it work. I have 26 of my favorite games on it already without having to drag along all those umd's. priceless ;)
Maybe, but just thinking about it made me jimp.
What whitecolalrcriminal said, though no touchscreen
-double to quadruple the processing power/ram/vram/etc
-fullscreen tv out via the 2000/3000's cables via native rendering not upscaling
-allow the PS3/sixaxis/dualshock link to act as a full controller in remote play/PS1 games, and let you map the unused shoulder buttons/analog stick in PSP games to any other button
-PSN buddy list/trophies
-built in camera
Make the design more like something that actually resembles a Sony product. The PSP Go's design looks like a recycled Mylo
"Make the design more like something that actually resembles a Sony product. The PSP Go's design looks like a recycled Mylo"
Mylo is a Sony product you idiot. Therefore, saying it looks like a Mylo, admits it resembles a Sony product.
Must Go
- Dump the proprietary Sony memory stick. Please. Use SD like everyone else. I don't want to buy new ones for no reason.
- 802.11g
- Mini USB instead of weird prioprietary thing. I can already charge with USB, anyway, with an adapter, so there's no point.
Would Make Me Want It
- Mini hdmi port instead of proprietary sony stuff and bizarre old composite/component cables. 720P output minimum.
- Allow users with a PSP2000 to put UMDs in their system and register online with Sony to move their games over for free.
- Possible software package that can stream the display over wirelss G onto a laptop or other receiver (maybe even a Sony Vaio, though I know that'd be frustrating).
- Consider making it more powerful for a new generation of games. It's already breaking compatibility, so why keep the same standard of games? The processor is puzzlingly slow when other devices are nearing 1Ghz and will soon surpass this unit.
@Daniesto
okay 1st of all you gotta give credit for PSP developers for this new release.
Some caveats we've seen:
1) UMD (optional) peripheral - - Please don't remove it permanently. Traditional PSP users still want that feature to be intact
2) A Snazzy Place to Download Free PSP Games - Let's face it, downloading all your games in PSP GO's official website with a price tag ain't that cool
3) Bigger Memory in the future - a 16GB internal + 16 max memory (external) = 32 . if I Have a game which is amounting to 2 gigs each. I can only install 16 games then? What If I want to store some HD quality movies and music? - - A storage upgrade will be very generous indeed
We have a little review about PSP GO: http://pinoytutorial.com/techtorial/psp-go-a-nightmare-for-psp-users/
So would you still buy the "download-only GO" device or not?
Oh man this. There's never been a worse time to use CFW.
I'd move the start and select buttons above the analog stick and add a second one in that perfect circle that would be there. Also, make it a bit bigger by adding a UMD slot. I'd also add 802.11N wireless capabilities.
Oh God and that atrocious price as well!
Wireless B is the reason my original PSP sits in the corner gathering dust. Jesus, how long has N been out now??? That's nothing compared to how old G is!!! Running legacy kills my network, and (fortunately?) my PSP is the only thing I actually use that can't even support G.
Sorry for the rant, this is just something Sony does that really pushes my buttons
I must be missing something with wireless transfer speeds. When you say "download speeds", if you're talking about from the net, how fast is your internet connection? 802.11b is 11 Mbits. Don't know about you, but my download speeds don't max that out. If you're talking about WLAN speeds, then 802.11g/n has some value, but many gigabytes are you transferring to your PSP to notice?
Fix the price. It should be the same as the big PSP.
Other than that, it seems good.
I'm going to ignore all the PSP 2 features that could have been included (touchscreen, dual nubs, etc.), but instead focus on what it NEEDS to have to survive, which is a lower price and a system to allow free downloads of all ready purchased games.
-Bigger screen
-UMDs
-another analog screen
-there's sooooo many things that need to be changed, but those are just a few.
but what your looking for has been out for a few years now... psp 1000, 2000 and 3000.
Duh! They could have kept all that stuff and just redesigned the PSP instead of making it a downgrade.
Stupid.
32GB built in storage, wireless N, and a $200 price-point.
BTW All the folks that are saying" put a UMD drive on it!" are just ridiculous. The purpose of the PSP GO is to reduce the size and to test the digital market system. A UMD is already in a current retail model PSP, if you "need" the UMD, get the 3000.
I will probably buy a GO pretty soon, but a price drop or bundle would be very freaking nice....
"BTW All the folks that are saying" put a UMD drive on it!" are just ridiculous. "
Oh yeah, people wanting to use existing PSP games on their PSP are ridiculous
You idiot.
@ Extinction
He also said "if you "need" the UMD, get the 3000".
If you add UMD and "bigger screen" the Go would be another bulky portable like the original PSPs. The point of the Go is the form-factor, the fact that its small and is around the size of your iPhone or GBA micro.
@Extinction I loved your reply.
dual nubs... duh
ModChip slot!
Jesus Christ, why not throw in a toaster while you're at it?
EXACTLY! even a better question... What WONT you change of Sony's PSP Go?
