These polls are always so stupid, because they distort the results by having the "I don't own one" option. Just tell people who don't own one to not vote.

Here are the corrected percentages without "I don't own one":

# Mine's looking good, no problems! 4413 (54.9%)
# I've had one minor issue... 907 (11.3%)
# I've had more than one minor issue, but I'm keeping it. 603 (7.5%)
# Major problems! I'm taking it back (or already have). 2122 (26.4%)

= 34% with major problems or more than one minor issue
= 66% with no problems or minor issue

Did they ever do a similar poll on the iphone? I'm sure iphones get swapped a lot too, and I bloody well know people replace ipods on a regular basis, showing that apple's manufacturing is not as perfect as fanbois might claim.
And that's the point and the outrageousness, a poll on the pre and an iphone fan starts to claim iphones are better and more abundant, then when you reply about the percentage of iphone users they mention there are according to their own observations they go "why are people always 'bashing' the iphone?"
It all makes perfect sense.
Mind you I do think erik and Quantumphysics and whoever else has the same right to post as anybody else as far as I'm concerned, we all say controversial or annoying or silly things, sometimes in a single post :)

I returned mine. I exchanged it two times (three phones) and all of them had major build quality issues. The screen is adversely effected by heat, and often splotchy. One HUGE [and fatal] error for me was that when I was multitasking--having five cards open--and received a call, my phone would lock up and either a) drop the call, or b) freeze for the duration of the ringing, or c) freeze until 1 second before voicemail.

Also, slightly bumping the phone jars the screen lose. Pressing on it with the slider closed makes the screen click (this isn't the BB Storm!).

I really REALLY wanted to love the phone. Web OS is great, but the phone just had too many issues to work out. I defended this phone from everybody, I played fanboy for a while, but eventually I took mine back to the Sprint store.

I was choosing between either this or the iPhone 3GS. I now have the 3GS. I'm fine with the switch.

I, too, was choosing between the iphone 3gs and the pre. I eventually chose the iphone. I wanted to get the pre for its web os, but the hardware just got too many bad reviews.

Listening to Aventura off mine right now. I like it but I do have the gap tooth issue with it and the screen/backlight bleeding. Other than that I've been able to keep a 2 day charge with internet browsing, 1-2 HRS of Pandora, and light email usage. Plan on returning mine in a couple months when the build quality gets better.
